🚴 Sunny South East Cycle 2025 – At SETU Arena

Join us on Sunday, August 24th, 2025, for the Sunny South East Cycle — a vibrant, community-powered cycling event starting and finishing at SETU Arena, Waterford. This special day is in aid of Down Syndrome Ireland – Waterford & South Kilkenny Branch, and promises a fun, inclusive and meaningful experience for all who take part.

Now in its third year, the Sunny South East Cycle has become a much-loved fundraising event in the region, offering three scenic cycling routes through the beautiful countryside of the South East:

• 🚴‍♀️ 125km Route

• 🚵 80km Route

• 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 12km Family Route (departing after longer routes)

The event is suitable for all fitness levels — from experienced riders to families with young children. Every kilometre you cycle helps fund vital services for local children and adults with Down syndrome, including speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and life-enhancing group activities.

The event is organised with heart by dedicated local volunteers — many of whom are parents of children with Down syndrome. One such organiser shared:

“The branch has been like a second home to us since our daughter Croía was born. This cycle helps ensure that other families can access the same supports and sense of community we’ve been so lucky to have.”

Expect bike marshals, first aid support, refreshment stops, and a welcoming festival atmosphere at the Arena throughout the day.

This cycle isn’t just a fundraiser it’s a celebration of community spirit. Whether you’re pushing through 125KM or enjoying the 12KM family route, you’ll be surrounded by people cycling for a cause. Every pedal helps provide vital services like speech therapy, occupational therapy, and community-building activities for children and adults with Down Syndrome. The South East Cycle is about inclusion, support, and making a real difference one kilometre at a time.
