World GAA Games 2026 Waterford
Waterford has been officially confirmed as the host city for the 2026 World GAA Games, bringing one of the largest international Gaelic Games events to the South East of Ireland.
Taking place from July 13 to 17, 2026, the event will see over 2,000 players from more than 100 teams worldwide compete across multiple Gaelic Games disciplines. Matches will be held at SETU Arena in Carriganore, with finals taking place at Walsh Park.

he World GAA Games is a global celebration of Gaelic Games, held every three years. Since its inception in 2015, the event has grown significantly, reflecting the rapid expansion of GAA clubs worldwide.
The 2026 Games will be the largest yet, with teams traveling from Europe, Britain, the United States, Canada, Australasia, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and South America.
A Global Gaelic Games Community
The Games highlight the global reach of Gaelic Games, with more than 560 clubs now established outside Ireland.
What makes this event unique is its inclusivity, with both Irish-born players and international participants competing. Many players involved have never visited Ireland before, making the Games a meaningful homecoming and a celebration of culture, sport and community.

SETU Arena has been selected as a key venue due to its world-class facilities, capable of hosting large-scale international sporting events.
Located in Carriganore, the Arena provides high-performance pitches, training facilities and event infrastructure to support teams, officials and spectators throughout the tournament.
